David Unaipon (1872-1967), often heralded as the "Black Genius of Australia," was a remarkable preacher, author, and inventor whose life and work left an indelible mark on Australian history. Born at the Point McLeay Mission in South Australia, Unaipon's early years were shaped by a rich cultural heritage and an environment that fostered his intellectual curiosity. His father, James Ngunaitponi, was the mission’s first Aboriginal convert, and his mother, Nymbulda, also played a significant role in his upbringing.
